The client, a global retail specialist, provides time and attendance solutions to large-scale South African companies. The apps under test are its leading retail sales and execution software tools for managing, scheduling, and monitoring field team activities in real-time.
Problem statement
The client required test automation to improve overall product quality and provide daily smoke test result reports.
Solution
Test automation that also generates a daily smoke test report that is automatically sent to the client via email.
Before improvement
The client needed daily smoke testing, or build verification testing, to determine issues of the most crucial functions of its applications.
After improvement
Daily smoke test reports were automatically emailed to the client.
Benefit to the client after implementation
The daily smoke test reports allowed the client’s dev team to identify and focus on issues early in the development process. Early detection is much more cost-effective and bugs are generally easier to fix.
