Inspired to Disrupt

“As global change continues to challenge the status quo, we’re helping clients build software that sustains and strengthens their humanity and productivity.”

In the world of digital disruption, where agility, precision, and trust matter more than ever, one South African-born company is helping the UK step boldly into the future—by ensuring the software that powers it is world-class. That company is Inspired Testing.

From its roots in Cape Town to its thriving headquarters in London and delivery hubs worldwide, Inspired Testing is redefining what software quality means—and how it’s delivered—with a bold, uniquely Saffa style that’s winning over global giants and local partners alike.

Born to Disrupt

The company’s journey into the UK kicked off in 2017, back when it was still flying the DVT flag. In South Africa, DVT was already a familiar name in tech—but in the UK, no one had heard of it. Then in 2019, everything shifted. A UK-based CIO threw down a challenge: “Tell me about testing—in fact, inspire me!” That one line lit a spark. It wasn’t just the start of a rebrand—it became our rallying cry.

“We realised we had to do more to connect, to spark engagement, to lead,” says Jacques Fouché, CEO of Inspired Testing. “The name ‘Inspired Testing’ was born from that moment, and with it, a sharper, more focused mission.”

Making Way for Potential

Inspired Testing’s mantra is simple but powerful: Make Way for Potential. The company’s job is to ensure that software doesn’t just work but empowers. Whether that means creating secure, scalable platforms, ensuring user responsiveness, or preparing companies for tomorrow’s technologies, Inspired Testing leads with purpose.

“As global change continues to challenge the status quo, we’re helping clients build software that sustains and strengthens their humanity and productivity,” says Jacques.

From AI-assisted and specialised software testing services, strategic test consulting and talent augmentation, the organisation offers forward-thinking, technically relevant, and scalable solutions. It’s not just about fixing bugs—it’s about enabling businesses to transform, innovate, and grow confidently in a rapidly shifting digital world.

The UK: A Strategic Play

Since opening its first UK office in 2019, Inspired Testing has grown exponentially—today, the UK contributes 45% of the company’s global turnover. That kind of traction didn’t come from imitation. It came from bringing a new game plan to the field.

“We never tried to play the local game,” says Jacques. “We brought our own tactics, our own gees, and our own authenticity. It’s about being genuinely South African—approachable, responsive, and a little more fun than our competitors.”

That energy shows up in the company’s team, too. From ice-swimming executives and American football captains to mountain biking CEOs and military veterans, its UK squad is an eclectic, high-performing mix of talent.

“At Inspired Testing, we don’t just hire for skill—we hire for impact,” explains Jacques. “Our people are empowered to lead, adapt, and solve real problems. That’s what clients remember.”

Winning the Crowd

To win the away game, the organisation knew it couldn’t just show up with a Saffa team. It had to win over the local crowd, too.

“We always say—you can’t win if the stadium is filled with only Scottish supporters,” Jacques laughs. “So we focused on building brand awareness, nurturing relationships, and earning trust.”

Its hybrid team strategy—combining South African delivery muscle with local UK management—proved to be a winning formula. With leaders like Lesley Higgins, Jim Brooks, Tristan Brown, Lloyd Dignan and others in place, Inspired Testing has secured long-term partnerships in industries from finance and insurance to government and utilities.

“We’ve built a team that really gets both sides—the players and the competition,” says Jacques. “That kind of balance makes us a force to be reckoned with—in the best way possible.”

Building the Future, Today

Inspired Testing’s value doesn’t end with immediate software quality. It extends to future readiness, resilience, and scalable growth.

“Our engineers give you the confidence to forge ahead,” Jacques shares. “Whether launching a product, scaling globally, or navigating change, we help you move with clarity, agility, and assurance.”

And through the Inspired Academy, it’s continuously training the next generation of testing talent—both in the UK and abroad—to stay ahead of the tech curve.

Keeping It Lekker

Despite its global footprint, Inspired Testing hasn’t lost its Mzanzi heart. It supports fellow Saffas overseas, collaborates with like-minded companies, and never shies away from sharing knowledge.

“We believe in lifting others as we climb,” says Jacques. “If we can open doors, make introductions, or just offer advice—we’re here for that. We’re building a global legacy and want others to be part of it.”

Final Whistle

Inspired Testing didn’t just enter the UK market—it changed the rules of engagement. It has created a culture of excellence, empathy, and impact by staying true to who it is.

The company’s story isn’t just about software testing. It’s about playing your own game—and winning it.
